Your Wedding

A wedding is one of the most special and exciting times in one’s life, and Steve Fellers Photography is ready capture all of the moments that you will cherish forever. I offer personalized attention and a laid-back style that makes for an experience that is more like a friendship rather than a business-client relationship.

Wedding photographers are often asked about their respective “styles.” Well, I would call my style a blend of modern photojournalism and traditional photography. Some may call it a “documentary” style. While many of the photographs will chronicle the events of the day, the traditional family and group photos will also be emphasized. My goal is to help you relive your wedding day every time you look at your images. My photographs will capture a blend of celebration, solemnity, love and fun.

I am committed to personal service and quality.

FAQ

What are the advantages of hiring an experienced professional?

A professional photographer will be timely – arriving at your wedding promptly, and getting the results to you on time. A professional has just the right equipment for photographing your wedding. Having attended many weddings, an experienced wedding photographer will be at ease at your wedding and is comfortable working with individuals, couples, and groups to make the formal photography go smoothly.

How many years of experience do you have?

I have about 30 years experience in photography, primarily in photojournalism, and about five years photographing weddings. Much of my wedding photography style is based on photojournalism.

You do wedding photography part time – shouldn’t I be looking for someone who shoots weddings full time?

Weddings are typically held on weekends. A part-time wedding photographer shoots about as many weddings as a full-time photographer who does portraits during the week, and can have just as much experience shooting weddings. The main difference is that a part-time wedding photographer doesn’t have the overhead of a full-time photographer, and can save you a lot of money for the same high-quality photography.

How far in advance should we book our wedding?

There is no rule. But the date, if available, will be guaranteed with the payment of a deposit and a signed contract.

Do you photograph weddings out of the Arkadelphia area?

Certainly! But there is a 50-cent-per-mile charge on destinations more than 15 miles from Arkadelphia.

What type of cameras do you use?

I am 100 percent digital. I use Nikon professional cameras with a resolution of 12.4 megapixels. I always carry back-up equipment.

Will you accept a list of suggested photos?

Certainly! In fact, I recommend it.

Some photographers do not allow (or severely limit) guest’s taking pictures. How do you handle this?

The only time this becomes an issue is during the traditional, posed shots. As long as they don’t slow down the shoot or get in the way, I don’t have an issue with guests taking photos.

How many photos will you take?

It often depends on the wedding package you choose. The eight-hour package will yield more photos than the four-hour package. A typical four-hour wedding will result in about 200 proofs, and often more.

Can I purchase all of the high-resolution  proof files on a CD or DVD?

Yes. This is a popular choice. But you must keep in mind that photos printed at Wal-Mart or other discount stores and pharmacies will seldom match the quality of photos printed by the photographer’s professional lab. You will be given a link to an online site where you can upload your photos for printing. The great thing about this site is that it is operated by the processing lab that I use. Therefore, the photo files will already be calibrated to give you professional-quality prints. It may be just a little more expensive than a discount store, but the quality is worth it!

I want very traditional photographs taken, is that possible?

Yes, I can take photographs to suit your needs: contemporary/modern, reportage or even traditional styles.

I have looked at your portfolio, but can I see an entire wedding that you have shot?

Sure you can. Just ask me and I will forward you a login name and password to view some recent weddings that I shot.

How long after our wedding will we receive our proofs?

Normally, I will have them delivered to you in 2-3 weeks.
